Outdoor Setting featuring Safavieh outdoor chairs

Even though we had an extremely mild winter here in Arkansas, we are anxious to enjoy the out-of-doors. With the help of some new outdoor products, we've begun to build our sitting and game area.

Home and Living received two Safavieh Outdoor chairs by way of Overstock.com; here are the specifics: 18325636 Safavieh Wrangell Indoor Outdoor Green PE Wicker Stacking Armchair (Set of 2). You can, of course, view them in the slideshow. We love them. The green color screams spring and they are both at once, modern and comfortable. The webbing is sturdy and of course they stack to get smaller if there is a thunderstorm. And we like the fact that Overstock always has great prices, making even a small outdoor area affordable.

Dick's Sporting Goods also added to our outdoor area with Quest--a 3 Hold Bean Bag Toss Game. What a great idea! Give your guests something to do while waiting for barbecue. It is super easy setup and can be played almost anywhere, out or in. It goes together in minutes and there are no complicated instructions. Just determine your throw line and have Hiking sleeping bags a go. It also comes with a carry case so you can dissemble and take it with you for picnics or even beach play. It retails for around $29.99.

Speaking of the beach, Dick's Sporting Goods also sent along this fabulous Folding Utility Beach Wagon. You can pack all your beach gear in this cart--allowing you to make one trip. The large wheels roll over sand and a mesh bottom keeps sand out of the wagon. You can put chairs, towels, lotions, umbrella and more in this nifty item. It's a bright beautiful yellow canvas and there are even drink holder cups sewn on the side. It's useful for the deck too to haul all those things you need to give your guests, to set an outdoor table, and more. The Beach Wagon collapses and it, too, has its own carry bag. Find it at Dick's Sporting Goods where it retails for about $99.00. This would make a nice gift for Father's Day as he typically has to haul a lot of family gear out of the car trunk, and on trips.

A few tips to help set up an outdoor seating area:

Clean the deck, patio, porch of any mildew, cobwebs and all the detritus that can collect outside

Pay particular attention to outdoor lights if you are "evening" sitters

Add flowers wherever you can to take advantage of the sun

A small outdoor area rug helps to anchor furniture

Include small tables or trays so there's an area to set down drinks, magazines, sunblock, etc.

An outdoor umbrella will make sitting outside in full sun more pleasant

Enjoy your spring/summer.
